Noe Valley, San Francisco is named after the last mayor of Yerba Buena, José de Jesús Noé, who sold the land to John Meirs Horner in 1854 when the area became known as Horner’s Addition. Developed in the early 20th century, Noe Valley has a high concentration of Victorian and Edwardian homes, although few remain as they were first built, having been remodeled and redeveloped over the years. The area started out as a mostly blue collar neighborhood but has become quite wealthy, with homes selling well above $2,000,000 on a regular basis. Back in the days of John Horner, the area was a good distance from the action of San Francisco, where much of the area’s activity was focused. These days many residents of Noe Valley appreciate the area for being close to the amenities of city life, and offering a short drive to the highways leading to Silicon Valley.
Noe Valley is protected from the fog by Twin Peaks which acts like the bow of ship pushing the cold air to the north and south and leaving an opening for the sun to shine through. The weather is often clear and nice, although the winds can whip through from time to time. This is a great neighborhood in which to have a garden, situated so as to be protected from the wind. Summer in Noe Valley can really feel like summer!

Mike and I recently sold this wonderful two level home in Noe Valley. 4724 25th Street features 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, parking and a large private yard with exceptional views of downtown San Francisco. There were multiple offers and the property sold for $1,603,000.
We have sold several properties on this block of Noe Valley. The location is on the western edge of Noe Valley quite high on the hill. Many of the homes in the area have very good views of Downtown San Francisco and the Bay. It can be a bit of a tough walk up hill from the shops on restaurants, but there is quick access to the Safeway on Diamond Heights BLVD. All said 4724 25th Street is located in a great part of Noe Valley.
